Cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 86F. Winds light and variable..

Partly cloudy. Low 69F. Winds light and variable.

Bless your heart to a couple of the little lady news reporters on my local channel. I was taught to dress appropriately and even my 12-year-old grandson has picked up on it. So if you keep on addressing my news in that type of clothing, I’ll have to say goodbye. Even my grandson said “it’s like what are you advertising.” Thank you and bless your heart.

Why doesn’t the Greenville City Council spend its time trying to recruit businesses that bring jobs to the city instead of worrying about where bars can open and where you can walk downtown with an alcoholic drink?

No BYH to the planning committee. You won’t let an attorney operate in a residential area where no homeowners would be bothered but you will allow multi-family buildings to go into areas where numerous homeowners are bothered.

BYH, mayor and council. You think calling drinking districts “social districts” sounds better. Sadly, turning downtown into an open-air market for drinking is on brand for Greenville.

Bless your heart, Spectrum. I didn’t know that you offered your services in Greenville. However, I get a call every night welcoming me to Spectrum. Go away!

BYH to the folks living in Pitt County. ECU students come into town like drunk sailors on leave. They have no respect for anyone. I, for one, wish ECU was in another state or town. I was born here, so do not tell me that if I do not like it to move. Let them move; I was here first. If they are going to ECU, let ECU keep them on campus.

I don’t get it, bless my heart. Why is everyone concerned about me eating red meat and other fatty foods? Vegetarians, vegans, doctors and even my wife. Why the concern if we’re all going to be dead from climate change in 10 years?

Bless your heart, PGV. The executive director said great things are happening at PGV, including larger planes coming beginning in September. However, due to the pilot shortage, efforts to bring a second airline to PGV are on hold. No surprise. Each of many hypes of a second carrier has been followed by excuses for it not happening. No excuses in New Bern! You can fly to Charlotte and DC from there. Hum?

Inflation reduction act is gonna make rich people pay some taxes. What is this: Venezuela? BMH.

BYH to the two grown women getting into a shoving match at a high school football game over a man. We need better for our kids.

BYH to all of those drivers who ignore the state law requiring them to move over whenever passing a stopped emergency vehicle with its lights flashing. Move over and save lives!

Violent criminals deserve our understanding and compassion. To preserve progressive values, vote Democrat.
